Myranda Harris
Director
Myranda Harris is a percussionist and music educator with more than 20 years of experience teaching students of all levels and ages. She earned her B.M. in music education and M.M. in ethnomusicology from University of North Texas before pursuing her doctoral studies in ethnomusicology at UT-Austin. As an educator, she is passionate about sharing insights and appreciation for different arts and cultural traditions through participatory, engaging, and accessible classes and programs. She has taught undergraduate world music courses and ensembles at UT-Austin, led community ensembles and performances for public audiences in Austin, and delivered countless hands-on music workshops for all-ages audiences across the Central Texas area. At Artly World, she oversees the development of educational programs to enrich the lives of children, families, and communities through arts and music.
Carolyn Trowbridge
Percussion, Drumline, Explorers Ensemble
Carolyn Trowbridge is an energetic, multifaceted artist and educator and Austin Music Award-nominated multi-instrumental musician, performer, and composer. She has recorded, collaborated, and performed with several well-known and Grammy Award nominated artists. Along with performing in several Austin-based bands, she composes for and leads her own jazz quintet. In addition to her projects and regular performance schedule, Carolyn is an established music educator with 20+ years of experience teaching percussion, piano, theory, composition, and practical skills, delivering masterclasses across the country, and competing internationally. As a mother of two young kids, she loves sharing her musical passion and joy with all ages!
Collin Mullins
Piano, Intro to Songwriting, Ear Training and Notation
Collin Mullins is a passionate music educator dedicated to making music fun and fostering creativity in students of all ages. Drawing upon his extensive experience as a professional musician, Collin inspires students to achieve their musical aspirations through a dynamic and supportive teaching approach. Collin’s teaching method is highly practical, providing students with the tools and knowledge they need to explore their instrument as both a creative outlet and a source of confidence and joy. Collin tailors his classes to each student’s unique needs, ensuring engaging and personalized instruction.
Shane Dickens
Piano, Ear Training and Notation
Born and raised in Austin, Shane Dickens started studying classical piano at the age of 4 and went on to study jazz and classical piano at the University of North Texas. He has been teaching piano lessons for almost 10 years and is passionate about teaching all ages, skill levels, and musical styles. In addition to his teaching experience, he is an active participant in the music scene in Austin, regularly performing and recording with jazz and blues bands. He brings real-world musical experiences into the classroom and shares diverse musical styles with his students.
Clare Wuellner
Drawing Skills, Young Explorers Art Club
Clare Wuellner is a professional full-time artist in the Austin area working in a variety of media, including stained glass, photography, illustration, and mixed media. For many years she taught science at the university level with a PhD in Entomology specializing in Animal Behavior. Her scientific career in academia as well as her lifelong immersion in Western classical music enriches and informs her approach to devising engaging arts curriculum for audiences of all ages, levels, and abilities. She has extensive experience in the classroom where she uses her creativity, wisdom, and passion for education to develop a deep appreciation for the visual arts and how they intertwine with our daily lives.
