Overview

Explore creativity through music and art in this arts enrichment and social club for homeschoolers ages 5 to 10! Meets on Fridays at Artly World from 10:30a to 1:30p.

Club Schedule:
10:30a: Music Ensemble Activity
11:15a: Snack and Transition
11:30a: Visual Arts Activity
12:30p: Playground Social Hour

Club attendance is flexible. Join us at the start time of 10:30a to participate in music and art; or join us at 11:30a for only visual arts. Stay for the playground social hour at 12:30p as long as your schedule allows. We suggest bringing a packed lunch and making a day of it!

Club Activities:
Experience group music-making and explore different artistic mediums each week through fun, hands-on activities designed especially for elementary school age kids. Students will exercise their creativity and artistic expression by making music and creating original artwork with other club members. Activities are led by experienced arts educators and invited guest artist presenters. Every week is different to expose students to a variety of musical experiences and artistic mediums.

Prerequisites: No previous music or arts experience is necessary.

Age Requirement: Club activities are suited for ages 5 and above. To ensure our Young Explorers get the most out of this experience, children under age 5 will not be allowed to participate in club arts activities. Younger siblings can remain onsite with parent supervision and enjoy age-appropriate activities provided at the siblings’ table (indoor) or play outside on the playground.

Parents/Caretakers: This is not a dropoff program. Parents/caretakers must remain onsite.

What’s Included

  • Three meetings per month, starting September through November 2024. Club meets the first three Fridays of each month. (No classes Sept 27, Oct 25, or Nov 22.)
  • Large group instruction to experience music-making together and to create original artwork both individually and through group collaboration.
  • All students will have the opportunity to present/perform and exhibit their work at Artly World’s Young Explorer Showcase on Saturday, November 23. Save the date! (There may also be a possible dress rehearsal on November 22nd.)
  • Social Hour Bonus: Families are welcome to enjoy the onsite playground at the end of each club meeting (weather permitting). Bring a packed lunch and make an afternoon of it.

Frequently Asked Questions

My child doesn't have any music or arts experience. Should we still sign up?

Absolutely! Prior music or arts experience is not necessary. Instruction will be tailored to suit students’ ages, progress, and levels of experience.

My child is not yet 5 years old. Can they still participate?

Some of the arts activities may not be suitable for ages under 5. To ensure the best experience for all Young Explorers enrolled in the program, children under age 5 can participate at the younger siblings table (with parents supervision) and enjoy age-appropriate activities. Or, guardians can take younger siblings to play outside on the playground.

What if we must miss a class?

Fees will not be adjusted for individual missed classes. In the event a class is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, we will notify you and schedule a suitable makeup date.
