Drawing Skills for Beginners

 AGES 7-12

Overview

Develop confidence in drawing skills through a 6-week series of intimate small-group classes led by a professional artist instructor. Using pencil and paper, students will learn and practice drawing techniques such as shading, perspective, blending, stippling, contour, cross-hatching, and more. In-class activities and student projects will be tailored to students’ interests to ensure a fun and engaging experience for all.

Prerequisites: Prior arts experience is welcome, but not necessary. Instruction and course content will be tailored to suit the students’ level, interests, and progress. Students must be age 7 or above.

What’s Included

  • Six classes, which meet for 1 hour each Wednesday from October 9 to November 13.
  • Intimate student-led learning group limited to a max of 6 students and tailored to students’ interests, abilities, and progress.
  • All students will have the opportunity to share their original works at Artly World’s Young Explorer Showcase on Saturday, November 23. Save the date!

Frequently Asked Questions

My child doesn't have any arts experience. Should we still sign up?

Absolutely! Prior arts experience is not necessary. Instruction will be tailored to suit the students’ ages, progress, and levels of experience.

My child is not 7 years old. Can we still sign up?

To ensure the best experience for all Young Explorers enrolled in the class, students should be at least age 7 or above. If your young explorer is approaching age 7 and you think this class would be a good fit, reach out to us at [email protected] to discuss options.

What if we must miss a class?

Fees will not be adjusted for individual missed classes. In the event a class is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, we will notify you and schedule a suitable makeup date.
