Frequently Asked Questions

How does this class build upon Piano Level 1?

Your child was introduced to Western music theory concepts in Level 1 and will continue to develop this knowledge by learning more scales, more chordal harmonies, and more complicated notation. They will continue to work on fingering technique and hand independence, and they will develop confidence, musicality, and creativity as they are encouraged to make music with their peers.

My child has already taken some piano classes, but hasn't completed Level 1 at Explorer Studio. Can we go ahead and sign up for Level 2?

Our Level 1 curriculum has specific objectives that must be achieved before the student can progress to Level 2. We need to be sure your child has already developed these skills in their previous classes. Reach out to us to schedule a trial meeting with the instructor so we can see which Level would be the best fit.

What if we must miss a class?

Fees will not be adjusted for individual missed classes, but you can request to sit in a makeup class at an alternative timeslot if space allows. In the event a class is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, we will notify you and schedule a suitable makeup date.
